How to Test IoTfiers Water Level Controller (Model No: 1A_0012) before Installation

First of all before installation check How IoTfiers  Fully Automatic Water Level Controller for Submersible Pumps (Model 1A_0012) works:

Material required before checking :
1. 3 SS Sensors
2. A screw driver
3. Controller Device
4. A glass of water (Do not use RO water)
5. Electrical bulb with holder and wire ( For demo instead of Motor)

Steps
1. Remove the connector cover
2. Connect the 220V Ac supply at Input terminals. Phase–P, Neutral–N
3. Connect Electrical bulb at output terminals (Both Phase & Neutral)
4. Connect the Yellow sensor at L0 and dip in water
5. Now switch ON the power supply & turn the red switch position to AUTO –> as Green sensor is not connected Motor On Led is ON and Bulb is ON (i.e water level is low)
6. Connect Green sensor at L1 and dip it in water — Lower Level Led (25% level) will glow
6. Connect Black sensor at L2 and dip it in water — Motor On Led OFF & Bulb will be OFF ( i.e tank is Full )

Now turn the switch to Manual Position –> Motor Led is ON i.e Bulb is ON irrespective of water level in the tank

Steps to install IoTfiers Water Level Controller (Model No: 1A_0020)

Description

IoTfiers Fully automatic water level controller is suitable for Single Phase Submersible pumps (Borewell Type) upto 2 Hp with MCB type starter ( i.e Single Capacitor type starter). It requires no manpower to operate as it switches ON the motor when tank level is low (as soon as water falls below Green sensor) and automatically switches it OFF when the tank is full (as soon as water touches black (100%) level sensor)

  1. In Auto Mode the motor starts whenever the water level in overhead tank is less than 25% and stops when the overhead tank is full.
  2. In Manual Mode the motor is turned on directly. Motor will not be switched OFF automatically in this mode.
  3. The Motor/ Pump ON led lights up when motor is ON
  4. The Power ON indicator indicates whether device is ON or OFF.
  5. Remove the connector cover to make sensor and supply connections.
  6. The Lower Level Indicator lights up when water level in tank is above 25%

Installation Circuit ( With SS Sensors)

Steps to install:

  1. Measure the depth of the water tank by inserting the yellow sensor in it & mark it on yellow wire with a black tape
  2. Now join the Green sensor at 25% level and black at 100% level (below the black tape) using small wire ties provided in the box.Make sure that black sensor is placed Overflow level of tank.
  3. Now clip the extra part of wire ties and put this arrangement in the tank. To give proper support to this bundle of wires, tie it to a nearby pipeline using bigger wire ties.
  4. Extend these sensor wires from overhead tank to device using a 3 core Signal wire . Alternatively if this wire is not available then you can use CAT6 (LAN wire) or CCTV wire or simple 3 core flexible electrical wire.
  5. Now Mount the device on the wall.
  6. Remove the Connector cover and make the connections as described in installation circuit.
  7. Connect 220V AC supply at input terminals. Connect Phase wire at P and Neutral wire at N. Do not interchange these connections.
  8. Connect motor starter input terminals at output of controller device.
  9. Finally screw the connectors tightly and attach the connector cover back.

Note: It is recommended to connect the Live wire to Water Level Controller device through a switch.

Installation Circuit with Magnetic Float Sensors

Steps to install:

  1. Measure the Top level of tank by inserting Top magnetic float sensor & mark it with a black tape on it.
  2. Now adjust the length of wire between the Lower sensor and top sensor such that Lower sensor is placed at 30% level and Top sensor at 100% level with help of small cable ties.
  3. The Lower sensor float must be at 30% and top sensor float must be at 100%. Please ensure that 100% level is below the overflow level.
  4. Now clip the extra part of wire ties and put this arrangement in the tank. To give proper support to this bundle of wires, tie it to a nearby pipeline using bigger wire ties.
  5. Extend these sensor wires from overhead tank to device using a 3 core Signal wire . Alternatively if this wire is not available then you can use CAT6 (LAN wire) or CCTV wire or simple 3 core flexible electrical wire.

FAQ’s ( Frequently Asked Questions)

This controller is suitable for which type of motors/pumps ?

This controller model ( Model No: 1A_0012) is suitable for Single phase submersible pumps (Borewell type) upto 2 Hp with MCB type starters ( i.e Single Capacitor type starters)

This model is not suitable for submersible pumps with Push type starter ( i.e Double or triple capacitor type starters)

Which type of wire can be used for extending sensor wire?

You can extend these sensor wires from overhead tank to device using a 3 core Sensor wire (Preferable) . Alternatively if this wire is not available then you can use CAT6 (LAN wire) or CCTV wire or simple 3 core flexible electrical wire. Please make sure sensor wire is away from any power (AC cable) as it may hinder with its operation.

How long can we extend sensor wire?

With SS sensors you can easily extend wire upto 100 feet (30-35 metres). In case your wire is more than 40 metres we recommend to use Magnetic float sensors instead of SS sensors for better reliability

Can I give DC power supply to Water level controller device?

The water level controller for submersible pump is designed for input 220V AC supply so you should not connect DC supply

How many sensors are mandatory for satisfactory operation?

Water Level controller needs 2 levels of water level for proper operation which require 3 SS sensors to be connected in the tank.

  1. Yellow Sensor – 0 % level – Common sensor
  2. Green Sensor – 25 % level – Lower Level Led
  3. Black Sensor – 100 % level 

For proper operation all three sensors are mandatory. Please do not skip any sensor

Can I use this controller for submersible motors that pump water from sump tank ( underground tank) to overhead tank?

In case the sump tank is of very large capacity and you don’t need dry run protection of motor then you can use this model .( Only for single phase pump upto 2Hp with MCB type starters (i.e single capacitor type starters)

Can I use this controller for monoblock motors that pump water directly from corporation supply line to overhead tank?

In case the corporation water is available 24×7 and you don’t need dry run protection of motor then you can use this model . ( Only for single phase pump upto 2 Hp with MCB type starters (i.e single capacitor type starters or mono block pumps without capacitor upto 2Hp)

What is the life of Stainless Steel (SS) sensors for tank level?

These SS sensors are made up of SS 304 so they do not corrode and hence ensure long life. However due to oxidation in some areas they may require periodic cleaning. Generally the period of cleaning sensors varies from 2 months to 8 months depending on quality of water. In case you need maintenance free operation you can go for magnetic float sensors for maintenance free operation

Terms & Conditions:

1. In case you have received a faulty product or it is damaged within 30 days after delivery, the product will be replaced with a new one.
Procedure:

  • We will dispatch a new device to your address.
  • After dispatch courier details will be shared with you and you need to courier the faulty device to our address. ( Courier charges for the same will be reimbursed to you in this case)

Does this controller has dry run protection of submersible pump?

This model is suitable for single phase submersible pumps (borewell type)  upto 2 Hp with MCB type starters (i.e single capacitor type starters ) which mostly have 24×7 water supply available. Hence there is no dry run protection of pump for this model.

Is there any alarm on Tank low or Tank Full in this controller?

This model is fully automatic water level controller and requires no manpower for its operation. It automatically turns On the motor when tank water level is low and switches it Off when tank is full so no user action is required. Hence no alarm is given on tank low or full as it creates unnecessary disturbance to the user.
